Integrated Psychiatry for Meaningful Change
A Thoughtful Approach to Psychiatry
This practice was designed for people seeking a more thoughtful and individualized approach to psychiatric care, including professionals navigating demanding careers, college and graduate students balancing academic and personal pressures, and adults moving through complex periods of work, family, relationships, and life transition. As a small, physician-led practice, care prioritizes quality, continuity, and meaningful therapeutic relationships over volume-driven medicine. Services are provided through telehealth to patients throughout Virginia and Washington, allowing access to care regardless of where you live within either state.
Care is provided exclusively by Dr. Reges Hansen, DO, allowing treatment to remain consistent, collaborative, and personal over time. The practice offers psychiatric medication management, psychotherapy, and integrated appointments that combine both within the same session. This can be particularly valuable for busy professionals and students who want comprehensive treatment without coordinating care among multiple providers. Some patients benefit primarily from medication management, others from psychotherapy, while many benefit from a combination that evolves as their needs change.
Treatment is grounded in integrated psychiatry, which considers the biological, psychological, behavioral, and social factors that influence mental health. Medication can provide significant relief and stability, but treatment does not end with a prescription. Depending on individual needs, care may also address sleep, stress, nutrition, physical activity, relationships, routines, coping strategies, and the behavioral patterns that influence how we function at work, at school, and at home.
The goal is not simply to reduce symptoms, but to help patients function well in the parts of life that matter to them. Whether that means sleeping normally again, navigating a demanding career without becoming consumed by it, succeeding academically, managing anxiety or depression, maintaining stability with bipolar disorder, or simply feeling more like yourself, treatment is designed to be evidence-based, practical, and sustainable in everyday life.
Care for Demanding Lives
Professionals
High-demand careers can bring chronic stress, burnout, insomnia, anxiety, perfectionism, and difficulty maintaining boundaries between professional and personal life. Treatment can address symptoms while also examining the patterns that contribute to them, with the goal of maintaining both achievement and well-being.
College & Graduate Students
College and graduate training bring a unique combination of academic pressure, changing relationships, independence, identity development, and uncertainty about the future. Care may address anxiety, depression, insomnia, mood disorders, adjustment difficulties, and the behavioral patterns that affect academic and personal functioning.
Adults Across Life Stages
The practice also welcomes adults outside these groups, including retirees, individuals living with disabilities or chronic illness, LGBTQI patients, and those navigating relationships, family responsibilities, identity, loss, or major life transitions.
